Adverse reactions

Concomitant treatment with barbiturates reduces elimination of the latter, their plasma concentrations are elevated and their pharmacology activity is increased. Bioflavones are recommended in salicylate and arsenic compound overdosing. Peflavit C could be combined with other capillarotonic preparations.

Pharmacological mechanisms

The preparation is very well tolerated and adverse reactions are very rare. In high doses the preparation may cause hypercoagulation and propensity to thrombosis.

The combined preparation Peflavit C possesses the effect of the condensed catechines in the St. John’s worth, and this of the ascorbic acid. St. John’s worth composites, being bioflavones, possess a capillarotonic effect and reduce the vascular wall permeability, from other hand, they possess some anti-inflammatory action. Ascorbic acid, being an antioxydant vitamin, potentiates the effects of bioflavones by activating the cell metabolism. It exerts a regulatory effect on the oxygenation processes in the cells, participating in the redox-systems as a universal catalyst. This leads to normalization of the tissue metabolism, coagulation, reticulo-endothel function and erythropoiesis. Peflavit C possesses powerful detoxifying and desensitization effects.
