COMPOSITION:
Chloreton - 1 %
Carbolic acid - 2 %
Procaine hydrochloride - 3 %
Antipirin - 5 %
Antyudrous Glycerol - 89 %
in vials 5 ml solution.

ACTION:
Otalgeton is a combined preparation for typical application. It possesses well-marked anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and analgesic action. The antiseptic components (antipirin and carbolic acid) limit and suppress the inflammation reaction, while procaine, a local anaesthetic, removes the pain. The anhydrous glycerol dries the skin and facilitates the penetration of the other components. Otalgeton is very well tolerated and does not posses any irritating effect.

INDICATIONS:
Otalgeton is indicated for treatment of inflammatory diseases of the external and middle ear, accompanied by sharp or splitting pains: catarrhal otitis, acute suppurative otitis, diffuse otitis and otalgia.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Chronic ototis media and perforations of the ear drum.

PRECAUTIONS:
Otalgeton should not be dissolved in water or heated above 36 C. Prior to application, the ear should be well dried, and warm or wet compress should not be applied.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Otalgeton is applied in the ear until the meatus is filled; meanwhile, the patient remains in lying position for 15 min. the manipulation is repeated every 2 h until the pain disappears. In infants below 6 months, 1-2 drops are applied every 2 h.

MEDICIANL FORM AND PACKAGE:
Solution, in vials containing 5 ml.

STORAGE:
At room temperature (15-30° C) in a light-protected place.

EXPIRY:
5 (five) years.
