COMPOSITION:
Chloropyramine chloride 20 mg/2 ml in one ampoule; 25 mg in one dragee; 1 % cream and 1 % ointment.

ACTION:
Allergosan is a drug with a marked antisthaminic action. It acts as a competitive histamine antagonist in the area of its receptors. It is a typical representative of the agents inhibiting H1 receptors within the smooth muscles of vascular walls. It decreases the permaebility of capillaries. It has a central cholinolytic action and suppresses the action of the central nervous system.

INDICATIONS:
Vasomotor rhinitis, hay fever, allergic conjunctivitis and dermatoses; serum sickness, anaphylactic shock; bronchial asthma; Quincke's edema, sea and air sickness; drug and food exanthema; insect bites; sunburn; reaction during transfusion and prophylactically prior to the application of iodine-containing X-ray contrast media.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Allergic manifestations to antihistaminic agents which can sensitize per se some individuals and cause allergic reactions.

SIDE EFFECTS:
Central depressive effects with cholinolytic effect manifested with different intensity which may cause mouth dryness, changes in the intraocular pressure, disturbances in the visual acuity, obstipation, dizziness.

PRECAUTIONS:
The drug should not be taken simultaneously with alcohol, sedative and hypnotic agents because the negative effect on reflex quickness and on active attention of drivers is enhanced.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Orally for adults: 1 dragee, 3-4 times daily (up to 6 dragees daily).
Orally for children over 5 years: 1-2 dragees daily; over 10 years - 2-3 dragees daily. The dragees are swallowed, not chewed.
Parentally - in acute morbid phenomena requiring urgent treatment - 1-2 ampoules intramuscularly or intravenously.
Topically - application of ointment or cream is sufficient in restricted skin reactions; they are applied in a thin film upon the affected area, once or several times a day.
Generalized or more pronounced local changes are recommended to be treated simultaneously with oral administration of the drug.

MEDICINAL FORM AND PACKAGE:
Packages with 10, 50 and 100 ampoules of 20 mg/2ml.
Packages with 10 dragees of 25 mg.
Cream and ointment in tubes of 18 g.

STORAGE:
Ampoules and dragees - at moderate temperature (15-30° C).
Cream and ointment - at a temperature not higher than 25° C.
