COMPOSITION:
Diphenylhydramine hydrochloride - 10 mg
Ammonium chloride - 100 mg
Sodium citricum - 40 mg
Chloroformium - 15 mg
Menthol - 1 mg
Sirupus simplex ad 5 ml

ACTION:
A combined preparation with a marked antitussive effect in diseases of the respiratory tract with allergic etiology.
Diphenylhydramine as a main active ingredient is a competitive blocker of H1-histamine receptors. It reduces or completely suppresses the histamine edema of the tissues, decreases the capillary permeability and the histamine hypotension. It has a moderate antiemetic effect (due to its central antichlorinergic effect), a local anaesthetic, weakly spasmolytic, antiphlogistic, sedative and hypnotic effect. The preparation is quickly absorbed in the digestive tract and reaches a maximum concentration in the tissues 30 min after administration, the duration of the effect is from 4 to 6 h. it metabolizes mainly in the liver and partially - in the lungs and the kidneys.
The other components of dimex act antieptically, they liquefy the bronchial secretions and facilitate their elimination.

INDICATIONS:
Irritating and allergic cough, cough accompanying infectious diseases, bronchitis, tracheobronchitis, whooping cough.

SIDE EFFECTS:
Headahe, xerostomia, nausea, sleepiness, reduced attention and weakness.

PRECAUTIONS:
The preparation should be taken carefully by drivers and machine operators because it may cause sleepiness. Alcohol should be avoided during the treatment with dimex.

DRUG INTERACTONS:
Hypnotics, sedatives and narcotics potentiate the sedative effect of dimex, white phenamine and other psychotonic drugs antagonize it.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
The preparation is administered orally.
Children below 6 years - 1/2-1 teaspoonful, 3-4 times daily.
Children from 6 to 12 years - 1/2-1 teaspoonful, 4-5 times daily.
Adults - 1/2-1 spoonful, 4-5 times daily.

MEDICINAL FORM AND PACKAGE:
Syrup in bottles of 125 ml.

STORAGE:
At moderate temperature not higher than 30° C.

EXPIRY:
3 (three) years.
