COMPOSITION:
Biscodyl 5 mg and 10 mg in one suppository.

ACTION:
A drug with a laxative effect. Bisalax is not absorbed by the intestinal mucosa, but has a direct stimulating action at the level of the large intestine, its effect being associated with excitation of the nervous plexus in the intestinal wall. This induces intensified peristalsis and quick evacuation of the intestinal content. After rectal application, the effect of the drug occurs within 30 min.

INDICATIONS:
Constipation of various origin - habitual, during pregnancy and after childbirth. For emptying the intestines prior to operations and X-ray examination.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
It is not administered in gastroenterocolitis, ileus and peritonitis.

PRECAUTIONS:
The patients should not take antacids one hour before and after the application of the drug.

DRUG INTERACTIONS:
The parallel administration of bisalax with antacids and H2-blockers can precipitate its dissolution and can lead to an irritation action on gastric and duodenal mucosa.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Rectally, usually one suppository for adults or children.

MEDICINAL FORM AND PACKAGE:
Packages with 6 suppositories of 5 mg and 10 mg.

STORAGE:
At a temperature not higher than 30° C.

EXPIRY:
2 (two) years.
