COMPOSITION:
Ethamsylate 250 mg/2 ml injection solution

ACTION:
The drug is with pronounced antihemorrhagic and angioprotective properties. It restores the decreased capillary resistance, improves microcirculation, normalizes the prolonged bleeding time and the disturbed adhesion of platelets, without affecting prothrombin levels. The hemostatic effect of pharmacynon is manifested 15 min after intravenous injection. The maximum effect occurs after 1-2 h and lasts from 4 to 6 h. Pharmacynon induces no blood hypercoagulation and does not facilitate the formation of thrombi. It is characterized by a good resorption and is excreted unchanged with the urine, bile and feces.

INDICATIONS:
Prophylaxis, pre- and postoperative therapy of bleeding. Capillary hemorrhages, resulting from hemorrhagic diathesis and traumas.
As angioprotective agent in cases of lower resistance or higher premeability of the capillary wall, caused by hypertension, atherosclerosis, diabetes, acrocyanosis, varices, etc.
In ophthalmology - it is widely used during microsurgical operations and for the treatment of hemorrhagic retinopathy and glaucoma.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity to the drug and in patients with predisposition to thrombosis.

SIDE EFFECTS:
Nausea, headache and reddening skin are rarely observed, and discontinuation of treatment is necessary only in isolated cases.

PRECAUTIONS:
The injection solution should be used immediately after the ampoule is opened and should not be mixed with other drugs in one syringe.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
It is parenterally administered: intravenously and intramuscularly. For prophylaxis of hemorrhages - 1-2 ampoules prior to the operation. Whenever necessary, 2-4 ml (1 to 2 ampoules) are additionally injected during the operation. In case of risk of postoperative hemorrhages - 4-6 ml (2 to 4 ampoules) are prophylactically injected within 24 h.
Therapeutically - 2-4 ml (1 to 2 ampoules) and later - 2 ml (1 ampoule) are injected every 4-6 h. The daily dose should not be exceeded in patients with chronic renal insufficiency: 500 mg (2 ampoules) daily!
Pharmacynon can be injected subconjunctivally and retrobulbarly in a dose of 1 ml (1/2 ampoule).

MEDICINAL FORM AND PACKAGE:
Packages with 10 and 100 ampoules of 250 mg/2 ml.

STORAGE:
In a place protected from light, at moderate (15-30° C) temperature.

EXPIRY:
3 (three) years.
