ACTION:
A combined preparation with local anesthetic effect containing procaine to which different concentrations of adrenaline and noradrenaline have been added to prolong the effect. After absorption, procaine exercises short-lived analgesic, antiphlogistic, antishock, antiarrhythmic and spasmolytic effects.
The adrenomimetic drugs adrenaline and noradrenaline reduce the toxicity and prolong the anesthetic effect of procaine. Due to their pronounced peripheral vasoconstrictive effect, the loss of blood during surgical interventions decreases.
In stomatological practice - for obtaining a conduction anesthesia during surgical interventions and painful manipulations.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity to procaine and adrenaline, myasthenia, sulfonamide therapy, purulent processes at the place of application, arterial hypotension.
The preparation should be applied with caution to patients with pronounced cardiac, hepatic and renal insufficiency.

SIDE EFFECTS:
General weakness, dizziness, noise in the ears, arterial hypotension, skin eruptions, tachycardia, headache and tremor may be observed after higher doses.

PRECAUTIONS:
Patients should be subjected to epicutaneous and other tests before application of novadren for hypersensitivity.

DRUG INTERACTIONS:
The analgesic effect of Novadren decreases if used simultaneously with glucose, analeptics and calcium preparations. Its vasoconstructive effect can be reduced by phenothiazine derivatives. Combined application with salicylates and sulfonamides may cause inhibition of their anesthetic and bacterioststic effect.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Usually 1-2 ampoules are enough to produce conduction anesthesia, complete anesthesia being obtained after 5-10 min.
