StockNo Product description
EB0280-410-04 CALCIUM BROMATUM AMPOULE 200 MG/5 ML (4%)
EB0280-410-29 CALCIUM BROMATUM AMPOULE 400 MG 10 ML (4%)

COMPOSITION:
Calcium bromide 200 mg/5 ml and 400 mg/10 ml in one ampoule.

ACTION:
The bromide preparations enhance the processes of inhibition in the brain cortex and restore the balance between the processes of inhibition and stimulation. That is obtained by determining the individual dosage according to the particularities of patient's nervous system type. Calcium bromide has a tranquilizing and anticonvulsive action - mainly in epileptiform convulsions and eclampsia (the effect is stronger at higher doses). The action on the nervous system is due mainly to the competitive substitution of chlorine ions, which imposes the requirement for a salt-free diet during the treatment. The calcium ions play an important role in realizing the effects of catechlomides, thromboxan and magnesium ions by means of the mechanisms of a great number of calcium-depended regulatory processes.

PHARMACOKINETICS:
Bromine is resorbed well in the digestive tract, it is distributed in the organism extracellularly and is eliminated mainly through the kidneys with very long period of halfelimination - it cumulates.

INDICATIONS:
Calcium bromide is applied mainly in neuroses; epilepsy and other convulsive diseases based on the increased excitability of the motor areas in the cortex; chorea, spastic conditions, climacteric disturbances.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Tuberculosis, atherosclerosis, asthenia, cahexia, dehydration of the organism, diarrhea, prolonged previous salt-free diet, nephritis, hay fever, convulsion conditions after intoxication with strychinine and tetanus.

SIDE EFFECTS:
Intoxication (bromism), acne, inflammation of respiratory tract, stomach and intestines may be observed after prolonged use. Later symptoms of general toxic action may occur: memory impairment, apathy, torpidity, vision and hearing decrease, gait disturbances.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
4% solution is injected intravenously in a dose of 5-10 ml once daily for 3-4 days. In more severe cases the preparation may be applied twice daily.
Calcium bromide should not be injected intramuscularly!

MEDICINAL FORM AND PACKAGE:

STORAGE:
At moderate temperature (15-30 C0 in a place protected from light.
