VITAMIN
E AMPOULE 30 MG/2 ML (1.5%) |
-
- COMPOSITION:
Tocopherol acetate 30 mg/2 ml in one ampoule
ACTION:
Vitamin E is an antioxidant, i.e. it protects lipids, Vitamin A and
a series of steroid hormones in the organism from oxidative
degradation, and hence from formation of toxic metabolites or
reduction of the effectiveness. It is mostly found in the germs of
germinating grains (in germinating wheat predominantly), in the
green parts of the plants (lettuce, spinach, lucerne, etc.), in
vegetable oils and egg yolk.
It regulates the normal growth and function of the epithelium of
sexual glands, as well as the development of the fetus. It is
assumed to play a role in lipid metabolism and to participate in the
synthesis of the compound chromatin molecule of the cell nucleus. It
also has an effect on the function and structure of smooth and
striated muscles (including heart muscle). The metabolism in muscles
is closely associated with the catalytic functions of Vitamin E.
PHARMACOKINETICS:
The transport of Vitamin E in the blood plasma is realized through
beta-lipoproteins. The usual plasma concentrations of
alpha-tocopherol range between 0.7 and 1.6 mg/100 ml. It is excreted
with the bile to a low extent. Administered intravenously, it is
excreted with the urine, mainly unchanged and about 20-30 % as
metabolites.
