VITAMIN
B6 FILMTABL 25 MG X 20 |
-
- COMPOSITION:
Pyridoxine hydrochloride 50 mg/1 ml; 50 mg/2 ml;
100 mg/2 ml in one ampoule and 25 mg in one filmtablet.
ACTION:
In the form of phosphate ester Vitamin B6 and pyridoxal and
pyridoxamine is a co-enzyme of numerous enzymes, decarboxylase and
transaminase in particular, which throws light on its role in the
metabolism of the free amino acids, especially of tryptophan,
methionine, cysteine, glutaminic and other amino acids. It
facilitates the utilization of unsaturated fatty acids in the
process of lipid metabolism. Improves the function of both the
nervous system and the liver. It reduces cholesterol in the blood in
atherosclerosis.
PHARMACOKINETICS:
Administered orally or parenterally, Viatmin B6 is quickly
metabolized in the liver to the so-called "vitamers" (pyridoxol,
pyridoxal and pyridoxamine). Normally the concentrations of Vitamin
B6 in the blood plasma reach up to 6 mmol/100 ml on the average. The
drug is mainly excreted with urine as 4-pyridoxic acid.
INDICATIONS:
Chorea minor, postencephalitic parkinsonism, encephalitis of various
origin, diffuse brain sclerosis, Little's disease, disseminated
sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, poliomyelitis, centrally
conditioned spastic states, convulsions in hemiplegia, tumors and
some forms of epilepsy; paresthesia and neuritis after
intoxications, progressive spastic muscular atrophy,
pseudohypertrophic muscular dystrophy, myasthenia, acne vulgaris,
seborrheic dermatitis, eczematous rashes, neurodermitis, cheilosis,
hypermesis gravidarum, macrocytic anemia, pernicious anemia,
erythroblastosis, agranulocytosis, prior to and post radiation,
cytostatics, rimicide, etc. |
SIDE EFFECTS:
The drug is well tolerated. The long-term intake of high doses can
be accompanied by dizziness, convulsions and other complaints which
fade spontaneously after the treatment is discontinued.
DRUG INTERACTIONS:
The administration of drugs as isoniazide, oral contraceptives and
cycloserine can cause Vitamin B6 deficiency in the body. It must not
be combined in one syringe or in infusion fluid with Vitamin B12,
because it is deactivated by cobalt in Vitamin B12.

For adults, orally - 0.05-0.01 g daily; in more severe cases -
subcutaneously, intramuscularly or intravenously - 0.05-0.10 g daily
or every second day.
